Position Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Inpatient Rehabilitation Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, and swallowing disorders. The SLP will work with patients recovering from stroke, brain injury, neurological disorders, and other complex medical conditions to maximize communication, swallowing function, and independence.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate patients with speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, and swallowing disorders.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and rehabilitation goals.
  • Provide evidence-based therapy to improve communication, cognition, and swallowing function.
  • Perform bedside swallowing evaluations and recommend appropriate diet modifications.
  • Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on communication strategies, swallowing safety, and home exercise programs.
  • Maintain accurate evaluations, treatment notes, progress reports, and discharge documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, dietitians, case managers, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and discharge planning.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, infection prevention protocols, patient safety standards, and facility policies.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Active Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license in the state of practice.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA required or eligibility to obtain.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Speech-Language Pathology experience, preferably in an inpatient rehabilitation or acute care setting.
  • Strong knowledge of dysphagia management, cognitive-communication disorders, neurological rehabilitation, and speech/language therapy.
  • Excellent communication, critical-thinking, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred.

Pay Rate
$71.90 - $76.78/hour
