Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Inpatient Physical Therapist to provide rehabilitation services to hospitalized patients with acute medical, surgical, orthopedic, and neurological conditions. The PT will evaluate patients, develop individualized treatment plans, improve functional mobility, and support safe discharge planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and assess mobility, strength, balance, gait, and functional abilities.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient condition and goals.
- Provide therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance activities, transfers, and functional mobility interventions.
- Assist patients with bed mobility, ambulation, transfers, and appropriate assistive devices.
- Assess fall risk and recommend appropriate safety and mobility precautions.
- Monitor patient response to treatment and modify interventions as needed.
- Educate patients and caregivers regarding mobility, exercise, safety, and discharge recommendations.
- Recommend appropriate assistive equipment and post-acute rehabilitation services.
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and discharge planning.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate and timely evaluations, treatment notes, progress reports, and discharge documentation.
- Follow infection prevention, HIPAA, patient safety, and organizational policies.
Required Qualifications:
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent degree from an accredited program.
- Active Physical Therapist license in the state of practice.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Minimum 1 year of recent inpatient or acute-care PT experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of acute-care rehabilitation, functional mobility, and patient safety.
- Excellent clinical judgment, communication, organization, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment.
- Experience with EMR systems preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous acute-care hospital experience.
- Experience treating orthopedic, neurological, cardiac, pulmonary, post-surgical, and medically complex patients.
- Experience with early mobility and fall-prevention programs.
- Strong discharge planning and care coordination skills.
- Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team.
- Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.
Pay Rate
$60.47 - $65.35/hour
