Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Inpatient Physical Therapist to provide rehabilitation services to hospitalized patients with acute medical, surgical, orthopedic, and neurological conditions. The PT will evaluate functional abilities, develop individualized treatment plans, and provide interventions to improve mobility, safety, and independence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and functional assessments.
- Assess strength, balance, mobility, gait, endurance, and functional limitations.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and medical status.
- Provide therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance training, transfers, and functional mobility interventions.
- Assist patients with safe bed mobility, transfers, ambulation, and use of assistive devices.
- Assess fall risk and recommend appropriate mobility and safety precautions.
- Monitor patient response to treatment and modify interventions as clinically appropriate.
- Educate patients and caregivers on mobility, exercise, safety, and discharge recommendations.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, discharge planning, and care coordination.
- Recommend appropriate equipment and post-discharge rehabilitation needs.
- Maintain accurate and timely evaluations, treatment notes, progress reports, and discharge documentation.
- Follow infection prevention, HIPAA, patient safety, and hospital policies.
Required Qualifications:
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent degree from an accredited program.
- Active Physical Therapist license in the state of practice.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Minimum 1 year of recent inpatient or acute-care Physical Therapy experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of acute-care rehabilitation, functional mobility, and patient safety.
- Excellent clinical judgment, communication, organization, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment.
- Experience with EMR systems preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous acute-care hospital experience.
- Experience with orthopedic, neurological, cardiac, pulmonary, post-surgical, and medically complex patients.
- Experience with early mobility and fall-prevention programs.
- Strong knowledge of discharge planning and appropriate post-acute care recommendations.
- Experience working with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.
Pay Rate
$60.47 - $65.35/hour
