Inpatient Occupational Therapist (OT)
Position Summary
Provide skilled occupational therapy services to hospitalized patients to improve independence with daily activities, mobility, safety, and functional skills while supporting recovery and discharge planning.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients’ functional abilities and occupational needs.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Provide therapeutic activities and interventions to improve strength, coordination, and mobility.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, transfers, and functional tasks.
- Recommend adaptive equipment and safety strategies as needed.
- Educate patients and caregivers on exercises, precautions, and home programs.
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as appropriate.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Follow patient safety and infection-control standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current Occupational Therapist license in the applicable state.
- Previous inpatient or acute-care experience preferred.
- Strong clinical, communication, and patient-care skills.
- BLS certification preferred/required as applicable.
Pay Rate
$79.52 - $84.40/hour
