Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Imaging Specialist – CT/X-Ray to perform Computed Tomography (CT) and general diagnostic radiology procedures. The Imaging Specialist will produce high-quality diagnostic images, ensure patient safety and comfort, administer contrast media when appropriate, and collaborate with radiologists and the healthcare team to support accurate diagnosis and treatment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform CT scans and general diagnostic X-ray examinations according to physician orders and imaging protocols
- Prepare, position, and educate patients for imaging procedures
- Administer IV contrast media as prescribed and monitor patients for adverse reactions
- Operate CT scanners and radiographic equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images
- Review images for quality and completeness before submission for interpretation
- Maintain compliance with radiation safety standards and ALARA principles
- Monitor, maintain, and perform routine quality control on imaging equipment
- Document imaging procedures accurately in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), RIS, and PACS
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
- Active Radiologic Technologist license in the state of practice, where required
- Current ARRT (R) certification required
- Current ARRT (CT) certification or CT registry required (or eligibility based on facility requirements)
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of recent CT and diagnostic radiology experience preferred
- Experience administering IV contrast and performing contrast-enhanced CT examinations
- Strong knowledge of CT imaging, radiographic anatomy, patient positioning, and radiation safety
- Experience with PACS, RIS, and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred
- Excellent communication, organizational, and patient care skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in acute care hospitals, emergency departments, trauma centers, or outpatient imaging facilities
- Experience performing neurological, musculoskeletal, abdominal, chest, trauma, and angiographic CT examinations
- Previous travel or contract imaging experience preferred
- IV Contrast Administration certification where applicable
- Strong teamwork, adaptability, and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Ability to work flexible shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call schedules as required
Pay Rate
$79.52 - $84.40/hour
