Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Echo Technologist to perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasound examinations and obtain high-quality images for interpretation by cardiologists. The Echo Tech will assess cardiac structures and function, perform required measurements, and ensure patient safety and comfort throughout each examination.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform adult transthoracic echocardiograms according to physician orders and established protocols.
- Obtain high-quality 2D, M-mode, Doppler, and color-flow images.
- Perform accurate cardiac measurements and calculations.
- Assess image quality and ensure all required views and measurements are obtained.
- Assist with stress echocardiograms and other cardiac imaging procedures as required.
- Explain procedures to patients and maintain patient comfort and privacy.
- Document patient information, measurements, and examination details accurately.
- Operate and perform basic troubleshooting of echocardiography equipment.
- Upload and manage images through PACS and cardiovascular information systems.
- Follow infection prevention, HIPAA, radiation-free imaging safety, and departmental protocols.
- Communicate technical concerns and urgent findings according to department procedures.
- Collaborate with cardiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
Required Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited Cardiovascular Technology or Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
- RDCS or RCS credential required/preferred based on position requirements.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Minimum 1 year of recent echocardiography experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, hemodynamics, and echocardiographic techniques.
- Ability to obtain technically accurate diagnostic images.
- Excellent communication, technical, critical-thinking, and patient-care skills.
- Experience with PACS and cardiovascular information systems preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience performing adult transthoracic echocardiography.
- Experience with stress echocardiography preferred.
- Experience in hospital, cardiology, or outpatient imaging settings.
- Knowledge of Doppler measurements, ventricular function, valve assessment, and cardiac hemodynamics.
- Strong attention to detail and image-quality standards.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced imaging environment.

Pay Rate
$68.09 - $72.97/hour
