Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) – Intensive Care Unit (ICU) to provide specialized nursing care for critically ill patients with complex medical, surgical, cardiac, neurological, or trauma-related conditions. The ICU RN will utilize advanced clinical judgment to assess, monitor, and treat patients requiring intensive care while collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans for critically ill patients
- Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms, hemodynamic status, neurological function, respiratory status, and vital signs
- Administer medications, IV infusions, vasoactive drips, blood products, and other prescribed treatments
- Manage patients receiving mechanical ventilation and advanced life-support therapies
- Operate and monitor critical care equipment, including ventilators, infusion pumps, and invasive monitoring devices
- Recognize and respond rapidly to changes in patient condition, emergencies, and code situations
- Assist with bedside procedures and coordinate care with physicians and specialty teams
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, recovery, and discharge planning
- Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing education activities
Required Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
- Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program
- Current BLS certification required
- Current ACLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU or Critical Care nursing experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of critical care nursing, ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, cardiac rhythm interpretation, and emergency interventions
- Excellent communication, critical-thinking, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- CCRN certification preferred
- Experience in Medical ICU (MICU), Surgical ICU (SICU), Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU), Neuro ICU, or Trauma ICU
- Experience with CRRT, ECMO, Impella, IABP, and other advanced critical care therapies preferred
- Previous travel or contract nursing experience preferred
- Strong teamwork, adaptability, and ability to perform in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
Pay Rate
$79.52 - $84.40/hour
