Position Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Surgical Acute Care to provide high-quality nursing care for patients recovering from surgical procedures. The RN will assess patient conditions, administer treatments, monitor post-operative recovery, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure safe, effective, and patient-centered care.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans
  • Provide post-operative nursing care for patients recovering from general, orthopedic, urology, vascular, neurosurgical, and other surgical procedures
  • Monitor patient condition, vital signs, pain levels, wound healing, and recovery progress
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and prescribed treatments
  • Perform wound care, dressing changes, drain management, and post-operative monitoring
  • Assist patients with mobility, ambulation, activities of daily living (ADLs), and discharge planning
  • Educate patients and families on medications, post-operative care, recovery expectations, and home care instructions
  • Collaborate with surgeons, physicians, therapists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
  • Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition and medical emergencies
  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies
  • Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and quality improvement initiatives

Required Qualifications:

  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
  • Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program
  • Current BLS/CPR certification required
  • ACLS certification preferred or required based on assignment
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Surgical Acute Care, Medical-Surgical, or Post-Operative nursing experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of post-operative care, pain management, wound care, medication administration, and patient assessment
  • Excellent communication, critical-thinking, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced acute care environment
