Central Sterile Technician
Support safe surgical and patient care by cleaning, sterilizing, assembling, and preparing medical instruments and equipment. The Central Sterile Technician will ensure instruments are properly processed and available for procedures according to established standards.
Responsibilities
- Clean, decontaminate, inspect, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment.
- Assemble instrument trays and surgical sets according to established procedures.
- Operate sterilization and decontamination equipment safely.
- Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and damage.
- Maintain accurate sterilization and processing records.
- Prepare and distribute sterile supplies to operating rooms and clinical departments.
- Follow infection prevention, sterilization, and safety standards.
- Monitor sterilization indicators and report equipment or processing issues.
- Maintain an organized and clean sterile processing environment.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous Central Sterile or Sterile Processing experience preferred.
- CRCST or CSPDT certification preferred or required based on position requirements.
- Knowledge of sterilization, decontamination, and infection prevention practices.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Pay Rate
$22.36 - $27.24/hour
