Position Summary:

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Full-Time Phlebotomist to collect blood specimens safely and accurately for laboratory testing. The Phlebotomist will provide excellent patient care, ensure proper specimen handling, and maintain compliance with laboratory and safety standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection on patients of all ages.
  • Verify patient identity and accurately label specimens.
  • Prepare patients for blood collection and explain procedures to ensure comfort.
  • Process, handle, and transport specimens according to laboratory protocols.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Laboratory Information System (LIS).
  • Monitor specimen quality and ensure proper storage and handling.
  • Maintain inventory of phlebotomy supplies and ensure equipment is properly cleaned and maintained.
  • Follow infection prevention protocols, OSHA regulations, HIPAA guidelines, and patient safety standards.
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff, nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of an accredited Phlebotomy training program.
  • Current Phlebotomy certification (ASCP, NHA, AMT, NCCT, or equivalent) preferred or required based on facility requirements.
  • Current BLS certification preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of recent phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in venipuncture, capillary collection, and specimen processing.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and patient care skills.
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) preferred.

Pay Rate
$22.36 - $27.24/hour
