Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) – ER/ICU to provide exceptional care for critically ill, injured, and medically complex patients in both the Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit. The RN will rapidly assess patient conditions, administer life-saving interventions, monitor critically ill patients, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and prioritize care for emergency and critically ill patients.
- Provide direct nursing care for patients with medical, surgical, traumatic, and life-threatening conditions.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and emergency treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, hemodynamic status, ventilators, and other critical care equipment.
- Assist with emergency procedures, trauma resuscitations, intubations, central line placements, and code situations.
- Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition, initiating appropriate interventions.
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, laboratory staff, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge planning.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities.
Required Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Current ACLS certification required.
- Current PALS certification preferred or required based on facility requirements.
- TNCC certification preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department and/or Intensive Care Unit nursing experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of emergency nursing, critical care, ventilator management, cardiac monitoring, trauma care, and advanced life support.
- Excellent communication, critical-thinking, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred.
Pay Rate
$60.47 - $65.35/hour
