Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Room (ER) to provide high-quality care for patients with acute illnesses, injuries, and life-threatening conditions. The ER RN will perform rapid assessments, triage patients, administer emergency treatments, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver timely, patient-centered emergency care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform rapid patient assessments and prioritize care using established triage protocols
- Provide emergency nursing care for patients with medical, surgical, traumatic, and critical conditions
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and emergency treatments as prescribed
- Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, laboratory results, and patient responses to treatment
- Assist with trauma activations, resuscitations, code blue events, and emergency procedures
- Operate emergency equipment, including cardiac monitors, ventilators, infusion pumps, and defibrillators
- Collect specimens and assist with diagnostic testing and bedside procedures
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge instructions
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, laboratory staff, and other healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities
Required Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
- Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program
- Current BLS certification required
- Current ACLS certification required
- Current PALS certification required or preferred based on assignment
- Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Room (ER) or Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of emergency nursing, trauma care, cardiac monitoring, critical care, and emergency interventions
- Excellent communication, critical-thinking, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred
Pay Rate
$68.09 - $72.97/hour
