EP Technologist – Electrophysiology Lab
Support electrophysiology procedures used to diagnose and treat cardiac rhythm disorders. The EP Technologist will prepare equipment and supplies, assist physicians during procedures, monitor technical systems, and maintain a safe and efficient procedural environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare the electrophysiology lab, equipment, instruments, and supplies for procedures.
- Assist with EP studies, ablations, device implants, and other cardiac procedures.
- Set up and maintain sterile fields according to established protocols.
- Operate and monitor EP recording, mapping, and other specialized equipment.
- Assist physicians with catheters, wires, and procedural equipment as directed.
- Monitor patients and promptly report changes or concerns to the clinical team.
- Maintain accurate procedural documentation and records.
- Perform equipment checks and troubleshoot technical issues as needed.
- Follow infection control, radiation safety, and patient safety standards.
- Clean, restock, and prepare the lab for subsequent procedures.
- Collaborate with electrophysiologists, nurses, anesthesia staff, and other healthcare professionals.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Cardiovascular Technology, Radiologic Technology, or related program.
- RCIS, CCT, or equivalent certification preferred/required as applicable.
- Previous Electrophysiology Lab, Cardiac Cath Lab, or cardiovascular procedural experience preferred.
- Knowledge of cardiac anatomy, electrophysiology procedures, and sterile technique.
- Strong technical, critical-thinking, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity procedural environment.
Pay Rate
$89.69 - $94.57/hour
