Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Endoscopy / GI Technician to assist physicians and nursing staff during gastrointestinal procedures. The GI Technician will prepare procedure rooms, maintain endoscopic equipment, assist with patient care, and ensure a safe, sterile, and efficient environment for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare procedure rooms, equipment, and supplies for endoscopic procedures
  • Assist physicians and nurses during upper GI, lower GI, and other endoscopic procedures
  • Clean, disinfect, and reprocess endoscopes and accessories according to infection control guidelines
  • Set up, operate, and troubleshoot endoscopy equipment and video systems
  • Assist with patient positioning, specimen collection, and transport
  • Monitor inventory and restock supplies as needed
  • Document equipment reprocessing and procedure support activities accurately
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sterile procedure environment
  • Follow infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, and patient safety standards
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, sterile processing staff, and other healthcare professionals
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Completion of an accredited GI Technician, Surgical Technology, Medical Assistant, or related healthcare program preferred
  • Current BLS/CPR certification required
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Endoscopy, GI Lab, Surgical Services, or Sterile Processing experience preferred
  • Knowledge of endoscopy equipment, scope reprocessing, sterile techniques, and infection prevention practices
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced procedural environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Flexible Endoscope Reprocessor (CFER) or GI Technical Specialist (GTS) certification preferred
  • Experience assisting with colonoscopy, EGD, ERCP, bronchoscopy, or other endoscopic procedures
  • Previous travel or contract healthcare experience preferred
  • Strong attention to detail, teamwork, and adaptability
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call schedules as required

Pay Rate
$47.51 - $52.39/hour
