Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department (ED) to provide rapid, high-quality nursing care for patients with acute illnesses, traumatic injuries, and life-threatening conditions. The ED RN will perform triage, deliver emergency interventions, monitor patient status, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure timely and effective patient care.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform rapid patient assessments and prioritize care using established triage protocols.
  • Provide emergency nursing care for patients with medical, surgical, traumatic, and behavioral health emergencies.
  • Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and emergency treatments as prescribed.
  • Monitor patient conditions, cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and responses to treatment.
  • Assist with trauma resuscitations, emergency procedures, and life-saving interventions.
  • Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition, code situations, and rapid response events.
  • Operate emergency equipment, including cardiac monitors, defibrillators, infusion pumps, and airway management devices.
  • Coordinate patient admissions, transfers, and discharge planning.
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatments, and discharge instructions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
  • Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, laboratory personnel, radiology staff, case managers, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
  • Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • Current ACLS certification required.
  • Current PALS certification required or preferred based on facility requirements.
  • TNCC certification preferred.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of recent Emergency Department nursing experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of emergency nursing, trauma care, triage, cardiac monitoring, and critical care interventions.
  • Excellent communication, critical-thinking, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred.

Pay Rate
$56.66 - $61.53/hour
