Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department (ED) to provide exceptional nursing care in a fast-paced emergency setting. The ED RN will assess, prioritize, stabilize, and treat patients with acute illnesses, injuries, and life-threatening conditions while collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver timely, high-quality, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform rapid patient assessments and prioritize care using established triage protocols
- Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans for emergency patients
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and emergency treatments as prescribed
- Monitor patient conditions and respond promptly to changes in clinical status
- Assist with trauma care, resuscitations, code blue events, and emergency procedures
- Operate and monitor cardiac monitors, ventilators, infusion pumps, and other emergency equipment
- Collect specimens, perform diagnostic testing, and assist with bedside procedures
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, laboratory staff, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development
Required Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
- Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- TNCC certification preferred or required based on assignment
- Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of emergency nursing, trauma care, cardiac monitoring, emergency medications, and critical care principles
- Excellent assessment, communication, critical-thinking, and organizational skills
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
