Director of Surgical Services

We are seeking an experienced Director of Surgical Services to oversee the daily operations of surgical services and ensure the delivery of safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care. The Director will provide leadership to surgical staff, manage departmental operations, support quality improvement, and collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of the operating room and surgical services department.
  • Lead, supervise, and support surgical nursing, technologist, and support staff.
  • Develop staffing plans, schedules, assignments, and departmental workflows.
  • Ensure safe and efficient preparation and delivery of surgical procedures.
  • Monitor compliance with infection prevention, patient safety, and surgical standards.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor department performance, patient outcomes, and quality indicators.
  • Manage departmental supplies, equipment, and resources effectively.
  • Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, nursing leaders, and other departments.
  • Address operational, staffing, and patient care concerns promptly.
  • Provide coaching, performance feedback, and professional development for staff.
  • Participate in budgeting, planning, and resource management.
  • Maintain accurate departmental records and documentation.
  • Support continuous improvement of surgical services and patient care.

Qualifications:

  • Current RN license preferred or required based on position requirements.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous leadership or management experience in surgical services or an operating room setting.
  • Strong knowledge of perioperative practices, patient safety, and infection prevention.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage staffing, resources, and multiple operational priorities.
  • Strong understanding of surgical procedures and multidisciplinary healthcare operations.
  • Professional, dependable, and patient-focused.

Pay Rate
$71.90 - $76.78/hour
