Director of Surgical Services
We are seeking an experienced Director of Surgical Services to oversee the daily operations of surgical services and ensure the delivery of safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care. The Director will provide leadership to surgical staff, manage departmental operations, support quality improvement, and collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of the operating room and surgical services department.
- Lead, supervise, and support surgical nursing, technologist, and support staff.
- Develop staffing plans, schedules, assignments, and departmental workflows.
- Ensure safe and efficient preparation and delivery of surgical procedures.
- Monitor compliance with infection prevention, patient safety, and surgical standards.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Monitor department performance, patient outcomes, and quality indicators.
- Manage departmental supplies, equipment, and resources effectively.
- Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, nursing leaders, and other departments.
- Address operational, staffing, and patient care concerns promptly.
- Provide coaching, performance feedback, and professional development for staff.
- Participate in budgeting, planning, and resource management.
- Maintain accurate departmental records and documentation.
- Support continuous improvement of surgical services and patient care.
Qualifications:
- Current RN license preferred or required based on position requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Previous leadership or management experience in surgical services or an operating room setting.
- Strong knowledge of perioperative practices, patient safety, and infection prevention.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage staffing, resources, and multiple operational priorities.
- Strong understanding of surgical procedures and multidisciplinary healthcare operations.
- Professional, dependable, and patient-focused.
Pay Rate
$71.90 - $76.78/hour
