Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Director of Rehabilitation (DOR) to lead and oversee the daily operations of the rehabilitation department. The Director of Rehabilitation will supervise therapy staff, ensure high-quality patient care, maintain regulatory compliance, manage departmental performance, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to achieve optimal clinical and operational outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and oversee the daily operations of the rehabilitation department, including Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech-Language Pathology services
- Supervise, mentor, and support rehabilitation staff while promoting professional development and clinical excellence
- Ensure high-quality, evidence-based patient care and positive clinical outcomes
- Monitor patient evaluations, treatment plans, progress, and discharge planning to ensure appropriate care delivery
- Coordinate staffing schedules, productivity, and departmental workflow to maximize efficiency
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, case managers, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care
- Monitor department performance metrics, quality improvement initiatives, and patient satisfaction
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, accreditation standards, facility policies, and documentation requirements
- Assist with budgeting, resource allocation, equipment management, and departmental planning
- Participate in recruitment, onboarding, staff evaluations, coaching, and performance management
- Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and departmental records using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems
- Foster a collaborative, patient-centered environment focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement
Required Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted license as a Physical Therapist (PT), Occupational Therapist (OT), or Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in the state of practice
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in the applicable rehabilitation discipline from an accredited program
- Current BLS/CPR certification required
- Minimum 3–5 years of clinical rehabilitation experience
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a rehabilitation setting preferred
- Strong knowledge of rehabilitation practices, regulatory standards, quality improvement, and healthcare operations
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred
- Commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered, and evidence-based rehabilitation services
Pay Rate
$37.00 - $42.00/hour
