DON – Director of Nursing - Job Description
The Director of Nursing (DON) is responsible for overseeing the nursing department and ensuring high-quality, safe, and compliant patient/resident care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs.
- Develop and implement nursing policies, procedures, and care standards.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal healthcare regulations.
- Monitor patient/resident care, safety, and quality outcomes.
- Manage staffing, scheduling, orientation, and staff development.
- Conduct performance evaluations and address staff concerns.
- Collaborate with physicians, administrators, residents, families, and other departments.
- Review clinical documentation, assessments, care plans, and incident reports.
- Monitor infection prevention, medication management, and quality improvement programs.
- Participate in audits, surveys, and regulatory inspections.
Pay Rate
$67.13 - $72.00/hour
