Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dialysis Technician to support the delivery of hemodialysis treatments for patients with kidney disease. The Dialysis Technician will prepare and operate dialysis equipment, monitor patients during treatment, assist with vascular access care, and work closely with nurses and physicians to provide safe, effective dialysis services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and operate hemodialysis machines and related equipment according to established protocols.
- Prepare dialysis stations, supplies, solutions, and equipment before and after treatments.
- Verify patient information and treatment orders before initiating dialysis.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and condition throughout treatment and report changes promptly.
- Assist with vascular access preparation and post-treatment care within scope of practice.
- Perform blood draws and collect specimens as assigned.
- Respond appropriately to treatment-related complications and emergencies.
- Maintain accurate treatment records and documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Perform equipment disinfection, cleaning, and routine quality checks.
- Maintain adequate supplies and report equipment issues promptly.
- Follow infection prevention, HIPAA, patient safety, and dialysis-specific protocols.
- Collaborate with Registered Nurses, nephrologists, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an approved Dialysis Technician or Hemodialysis Technician training program.
- Current Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT) certification or applicable state-recognized credential preferred/required based on regulations.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Minimum 1 year of recent dialysis experience preferred.
- Knowledge of hemodialysis procedures, vascular access care, infection prevention, and dialysis equipment.
- Strong attention to detail, communication, and patient-care skills.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred.
Pay Rate
$28.46 - $33.33/hour
