Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dialysis Technician to provide direct patient care and technical support during hemodialysis treatments. The Dialysis Technician will prepare and operate dialysis equipment, monitor patients throughout treatment, and collaborate with nurses and nephrologists to ensure safe, effective, and high-quality dialysis care.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain dialysis machines and equipment before, during, and after treatments
  • Perform equipment safety checks and ensure proper machine functionality
  • Prepare patients for dialysis by obtaining vital signs, weights, and treatment information
  • Initiate, monitor, and discontinue hemodialysis treatments under the supervision of a Registered Nurse
  • Monitor patients throughout treatment and promptly report any changes in condition
  • Assist with vascular access care according to facility policies
  • Document patient treatments, vital signs, and observations accurately in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
  • Maintain infection prevention and control standards, including proper cleaning and disinfection of equipment
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, CMS, HIPAA, and facility policies and procedures
  • Maintain inventory of dialysis supplies and report equipment issues as needed
  • Provide compassionate patient care and education regarding dialysis treatment and safety
  • Collaborate with nephrologists, nurses, dietitians, social workers, and other members of the healthcare team

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Completion of an approved Dialysis Technician training program preferred
  • Current Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT) certification or eligibility, as required by state or federal regulations
  • Current BLS/CPR certification required
  • Minimum 1 year of recent dialysis or hemodialysis technician experience preferred
  • Knowledge of dialysis equipment, water treatment systems, infection control, and patient safety practices
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
