Dialysis Technician

Position Summary

Provide technical support for hemodialysis treatments and assist the healthcare team in delivering safe, effective care to patients with kidney disease. Prepare dialysis equipment, monitor treatments, and maintain a safe and clean treatment environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and test dialysis machines and equipment before treatments.
  • Set up and monitor hemodialysis treatments according to established protocols.
  • Prepare patients and assist with vital signs and pre- and post-treatment assessments.
  • Monitor patients during dialysis and report changes in condition promptly.
  • Assist with vascular access care and maintain proper infection-control practices.
  • Clean, disinfect, and maintain dialysis equipment and treatment areas.
  • Document treatment information, patient responses, and equipment checks accurately.
  • Follow safety, infection-control, and dialysis standards.
  • Assist nurses and other healthcare professionals with patient care as directed.
  • Maintain adequate supplies and report equipment or treatment concerns.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an approved Dialysis Technician or Patient Care Technician program preferred.
  • Current dialysis technician certification, such as CCHT, preferred or required as applicable.
  • Previous dialysis or patient care experience preferred.
  • Strong technical, communication, organizational, and patient-care skills.
  • Knowledge of infection control and dialysis safety practices.

Pay Rate
$26.17 - $31.05/hour
