Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled CT/X-Ray Technologist to perform Computed Tomography (CT) and general diagnostic radiography procedures in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The technologist will produce high-quality diagnostic images, ensure patient safety and comfort, administer contrast media when appropriate, and collaborate with radiologists and the healthcare team to support accurate diagnosis and treatment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform CT scans and general diagnostic X-ray examinations according to physician orders and established imaging protocols.
- Prepare, position, and educate patients while ensuring safety and comfort throughout imaging procedures.
- Administer IV contrast media as prescribed and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
- Operate CT scanners, digital radiography, and portable X-ray equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
- Review images for quality, accuracy, and completeness before submission for radiologist interpretation.
- Maintain compliance with radiation safety regulations and ALARA principles.
- Perform routine quality control and report equipment malfunctions promptly.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), RIS, and PACS.
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities.
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Active Radiologic Technologist license in the state of practice, where required.
- Current ARRT (R) certification required.
- Current ARRT (CT) certification required or CT registry eligible based on facility requirements.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Minimum 1 year of recent CT and diagnostic radiology experience preferred.
- Experience administering IV contrast and performing contrast-enhanced CT examinations.
- Strong knowledge of CT imaging, radiographic anatomy, patient positioning, radiation safety, and imaging protocols.
- Experience with PACS, RIS, and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and patient care skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in acute care hospitals, trauma centers, emergency departments, or outpatient imaging centers.
- Experience performing neurological, musculoskeletal, chest, abdominal, trauma, and angiographic CT examinations.
- Previous travel or contract imaging experience preferred.
- IV Contrast Administration certification where applicable.
- Strong teamwork, adaptability, and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call schedules as required.
Pay Rate
$79.52 - $84.40/hour
