Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and flexible Radiology Traveler to join our dynamic Radiology team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing CT and X-ray procedures, as well as assisting with various imaging studies, patient care, and administrative duties as needed. The ideal candidate will have recent experience in both CT and X-ray imaging, a strong understanding of safety and imaging protocols, and the ability to adapt quickly to our facility's workflow.
Experience & Qualifications:
Required Certifications:
BLS (Basic Life Support)
ARRT-R (Radiologic Technologist)
ND State License
No certification required for CT but experience in CT imaging is preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years recent CT and X-ray experience.
Previous experience in smaller facilities preferred but not required.
Experience with lumbar injections and/or willingness to learn.
Prior experience with Dexa scans or willingness to learn.
Skills:
Ability to work independently and efficiently.
Strong communication skills to interact with patients and staff.
Knowledge of Meditech, IntelliSpace, and PACS systems (Allscripts for clinics).
Ability to adapt quickly to changes in workflow and department needs.
Work Schedule & Requirements:
Shifts: Full-time, Monday to Friday: Either 4 x 10-hour shifts or 5 x 8-hour shifts (flexible options based on the department’s needs). Shift times are from 6:30 AM to 5:30 PM, with some flexibility for scheduling.
Weekend & Call Requirements:
Call requirement: 1-2 nights per week from 5:30 PM to 6:30 AM.
Weekend call: One weekend per month (8 AM - 12 PM on Saturday). 20-minute response time during on-call shifts.
Holiday Coverage: Will rotate call during holidays in coordination with permanent staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Imaging & Studies: X-ray: Perform a variety of X-ray exams including ER, chest X-ray (CXR), abdomen, pelvis, orthopedic, and fluoroscopic studies (lumbar and barium swallow).
CT: Conduct CT imaging for angiography (chest, abdomen, pelvis), trauma, and specialized studies such as calcium scores and Dexa scans. Additional Imaging: Perform Dexa scans and assist with lumbar injections as required.
Equipment: Operate various imaging equipment including:
X-ray: Client portable, Client DR, Fluoroscopy: Toshiba, C-arm: Siemens
CT: Philips, Dexa: Hologic
Patient Care & Safety: Ensure patient comfort and safety during imaging procedures.
Start IVs as required for CT scans.
Administrative Support: Assist with answering phones, scheduling patient appointments, and general office tasks as needed. Support the radiology department with filing, data entry, and managing imaging records.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with the radiology supervisor, lead tech, and other team members to ensure efficient department operations. Coordinate with staff for coverage across CT, X-ray, and other areas such as ER, floor, and surgery (with potential C-arm use in the OR).
Dress Code:
Scrub attire of any color with closed-toed shoes.
Orientation & Training:
Comprehensive department-specific orientation (1-2 days) to ensure you are comfortable with our systems and equipment. You will be expected to call back for a quick follow-up one week after orientation.
Pay Rate
$81.28 - $86.16/hour
