Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Critical Care Float Pool to provide high-quality nursing care across multiple critical care units, including the Emergency Department (ER) and Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The RN will assess critically ill patients, administer advanced treatments, respond to emergencies, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional patient care in fast-paced environments.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill and emergency patients in ICU, ER, and other assigned critical care units
  • Perform rapid patient assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans
  • Monitor hemodynamic status, cardiac rhythms, ventilator settings, and patient responses to treatment
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, vasoactive drips, and other critical care treatments
  • Operate and monitor advanced medical equipment, including cardiac monitors, infusion pumps, ventilators, and other life-support devices
  • Respond promptly to medical emergencies, code situations, trauma activations, and rapid response events
  • Assist with emergency procedures, including airway management, central line care, and resuscitation efforts
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge planning
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
  • Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
  • Float to assigned critical care areas based on patient care needs while maintaining high standards of clinical practice
  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies

Required Qualifications:

  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
  • Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Critical Care experience required
  • Must have recent experience in both Emergency Room (ER) and Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
  • Strong knowledge of critical care nursing, emergency medicine, hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator management, and emergency response protocols
  • Excellent critical-thinking, communication, organizational, and clinical decision-making skills
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems
  • Ability to adapt quickly to different critical care environments
