Credentialing Specialist – Job Description
The Credentialing Specialist is responsible for coordinating and managing all aspects of provider credentialing, recredentialing, and privileging processes for Medical Staff, Allied Health Professionals, and other healthcare providers. This role ensures compliance with hospital bylaws, corporate policies, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements while maintaining accurate and complete provider records.
Credentialing Specialist – Audit Responsibilities
- Perform credentialing and recredentialing audits for Medical Staff, Allied Health Professionals, and healthcare providers to ensure compliance with organizational policies, hospital bylaws, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate provider records and data integrity using MDStaff credentialing software.
- Review credentialing files for completeness, verify licensure and certifications, and support clinical privileging processes.
- Ensure adherence to accrediting agency standards and applicable state and federal credentialing regulations.
- Assist with monitoring credential expiration dates, audit findings, and corrective actions to support ongoing compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Previous experience in healthcare credentialing, medical staff services, or provider enrollment preferred.
- Knowledge of credentialing standards, hospital bylaws, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience using credentialing software such as MDStaff preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and time management abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Pay Rate
$27.74 - $32.62/hour
