Position Summary:

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to support daily operations in an outpatient pharmacy. The Pharmacy Technician will assist with prescription processing, medication preparation, inventory management, patient service, and other pharmacy activities under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive, process, and prepare prescription orders accurately.
  • Enter prescription information into the pharmacy system and verify patient information.
  • Prepare, package, label, and distribute medications under pharmacist supervision.
  • Assist pharmacists with prescription filling and medication reconciliation activities.
  • Process insurance claims, prior authorizations, and prescription-related inquiries as applicable.
  • Provide courteous customer service to patients and assist with pharmacy questions within scope of practice.
  • Maintain accurate patient and medication records.
  • Manage medication inventory, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and monitoring expiration dates.
  • Handle controlled substances according to applicable laws and pharmacy policies.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy work area.
  • Follow medication safety, infection prevention, HIPAA, and pharmacy procedures.
  • Communicate prescription issues and medication concerns to the supervising pharmacist.
  • Assist with pharmacy audits, inventory counts, and quality improvement activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT) preferred/required based on state and position requirements.
  • Active state Pharmacy Technician registration/license where applicable.
  • Previous retail, community, or outpatient pharmacy experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of prescription processing, medication terminology, and pharmacy operations.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced outpatient pharmacy environment.

Pay Rate
$39.89 - $44.77/hour
