Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Level II Nursery/Postpartum (PP) to provide specialized nursing care for newborns requiring Level II nursery services and postpartum mothers. The RN will assess and monitor maternal and newborn health, administer treatments, educate families, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care for postpartum mothers and newborns in the Level II Nursery and Postpartum unit
- Perform comprehensive maternal and newborn assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Monitor newborns requiring Level II nursery care, including premature or medically stable infants needing specialized observation
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments as prescribed
- Assist with newborn screenings, feeding support, thermoregulation, and routine neonatal care
- Educate families on newborn care, breastfeeding, postpartum recovery, infant safety, and discharge planning
- Recognize and respond promptly to changes in maternal or newborn condition
- Collaborate with obstetricians, pediatricians, neonatologists, lactation consultants, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention, patient safety, and maternal-newborn care standards
Required Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ASN or BSN preferred)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications
- Minimum 1 year of recent Level II Nursery, Postpartum, Mother-Baby, or NICU nursing experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of maternal-newborn nursing, neonatal assessment, and postpartum care
- Excellent communication, critical-thinking, and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced maternal-child healthcare environment
Pay Rate
$79.52 - $84.40/hour
