Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled CVOR Surgical Technologist (CST) to support cardiovascular surgical procedures by preparing the operating room, maintaining a sterile environment, and assisting surgeons throughout complex cardiac and vascular surgeries. The CST will ensure instruments and equipment are available and function efficiently to promote safe, high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare the cardiovascular operating room with sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment
- Assist surgeons during open-heart, vascular, and other cardiovascular procedures by anticipating surgical needs
- Maintain a sterile field and adhere to aseptic techniques throughout procedures
- Perform instrument, sponge, and sharps counts according to surgical protocols
- Prepare and handle surgical instruments, grafts, implants, and specialized CVOR equipment
- Assist with patient positioning, surgical site preparation, and specimen handling
- Inspect, clean, and organize surgical instruments before and after procedures
- Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, anesthesia providers, and the surgical team to ensure efficient workflow
- Follow infection prevention, patient safety, and regulatory standards in the operating room
- Participate in emergency cardiovascular procedures and on-call coverage as required
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
- Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential preferred or required based on state or facility requirements
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Minimum 1 year of recent CVOR or cardiovascular surgical experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of cardiovascular surgical procedures, sterile technique, and surgical instrumentation
- Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity operating room environment
Pay Rate
$75.71 - $80.59/hour
