Clinical Laboratory Scientist – Job Description
Job Title: Clinical Laboratory Scientist
Responsibilities:
- Perform laboratory testing on blood, urine, tissue, and other clinical specimens.
- Conduct hematology, chemistry, microbiology, immunology, and/or blood bank testing as assigned.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Review and verify test results for accuracy and report critical or abnormal findings appropriately.
- Follow established laboratory procedures, quality control standards, and safety protocols.
- Troubleshoot testing issues and instrument problems when necessary.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation.
- Collect, process, label, and handle specimens according to established guidelines.
- Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement activities.
- Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or a related field.
- Clinical laboratory certification such as ASCP preferred/required as applicable.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, testing methods, and quality control.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced clinical laboratory environment.
Pay Rate
$52.85 - $57.72/hour
