Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) – Pediatrics to provide high-quality nursing care to infants, children, and adolescents in an outpatient clinic setting. The RN will perform patient assessments, administer immunizations and treatments, assist providers with examinations and procedures, educate patients and families, and ensure a positive healthcare experience for pediatric patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and obtain patient histories and vital signs
- Assist pediatric providers with examinations, procedures, and minor treatments
- Administer immunizations, medications, injections, and other prescribed treatments
- Monitor patient conditions and recognize changes requiring provider intervention
- Educate patients and families on growth and development, preventive care, medications, nutrition, and disease management
- Perform telephone triage and respond to patient and parent inquiries as appropriate
- Coordinate referrals, follow-up appointments, laboratory testing, and diagnostic procedures
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Ensure exam rooms are stocked, prepared, and maintained according to clinic standards
- Follow infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, vaccine storage guidelines, and patient safety standards
- Collaborate with pediatricians, advanced practice providers, medical assistants, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient education programs
Required Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
- Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program
- Current BLS/CPR certification required
- Minimum 1 year of recent pediatric, outpatient clinic, family practice, or ambulatory care nursing experience preferred
- Experience administering pediatric immunizations and medications
- Strong knowledge of pediatric growth and development, preventive care, and childhood illnesses
- Excellent communication, organizational, critical-thinking, and interpersonal skills
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred
- Ability to provide compassionate, family-centered care in a fast-paced clinic environment
