Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Oncology to provide high-quality outpatient nursing care for oncology patients. The RN will coordinate patient care, administer chemotherapy and supportive treatments, monitor patient responses, educate patients and families, and collaborate with the multidisciplinary oncology team to deliver exceptional patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments before, during, and after oncology treatments.
- Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biotherapy, blood products, and supportive medications in accordance with established protocols.
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions and manage treatment-related side effects.
- Educate patients and caregivers on treatment plans, medications, symptom management, and self-care.
- Coordinate patient appointments, laboratory testing, diagnostic procedures, and follow-up care.
- Access and maintain central venous access devices, including PICC lines, ports, and central lines.
- Collaborate with oncologists, pharmacists, advanced practice providers, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care.
- Provide telephone triage and respond to patient concerns regarding symptoms and treatment-related issues.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Ensure compliance with chemotherapy safety standards, infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, and facility policies.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities.
Required Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Minimum 1–2 years of recent oncology or infusion nursing experience preferred.
- Experience administering chemotherapy and biotherapy preferred.
- Strong knowledge of oncology nursing, chemotherapy administration, symptom management, and patient education.
- Experience with central venous access devices and infusion therapy.
- Excellent communication, critical-thinking, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred.
Pay Rate
$68.09 - $72.97/hour
