Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Certified Wound Care Nurse to provide specialized wound assessment, treatment, and management in an outpatient clinic setting. The nurse will develop individualized wound care plans, perform advanced wound care procedures, educate patients, and collaborate with providers to promote healing and prevent complications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive wound assessments, measurements, and documentation.
- Develop and implement individualized wound care treatment plans.
- Provide advanced wound care including dressing changes, debridement support, and compression therapy as permitted by scope of practice.
- Manage acute and chronic wounds, pressure injuries, diabetic wounds, venous ulcers, and other complex wounds.
- Monitor wound healing and modify treatment plans based on patient response.
- Educate patients and caregivers on wound care, nutrition, skin protection, and prevention strategies.
- Assess for signs of infection and promptly communicate concerns to providers.
- Coordinate care with physicians, podiatrists, surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR.
- Follow infection prevention, HIPAA, patient safety, and wound care standards.
- Participate in quality improvement and wound care education initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- ADN or BSN from an accredited nursing program.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Wound care experience required.
- Strong knowledge of wound assessment, dressing selection, infection prevention, and wound healing principles.
- Excellent clinical judgment, communication, organization, and patient-care skills.
- Experience with EMR systems preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN) or equivalent wound care certification preferred/required.
- Experience with diabetic wounds, pressure injuries, venous and arterial ulcers, and surgical wounds.
- Experience with advanced wound care therapies preferred.
- Strong patient education and care coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently in an outpatient clinical environment.

Pay Rate
$68.09 - $72.97/hour
