Certified Surgical Technologist – Labor & Delivery

Position Summary

Support the Labor & Delivery surgical team by preparing operating rooms, maintaining a sterile environment, and assisting with cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures. Ensure instruments and supplies are ready and support safe, efficient patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare the operating room, instruments, and supplies for obstetric procedures.
  • Set up and maintain the sterile field throughout procedures.
  • Pass instruments, sutures, and supplies to surgeons and other surgical staff.
  • Perform sponge, needle, and instrument counts before, during, and after procedures.
  • Assist with patient positioning, surgical preparation, and sterile draping.
  • Anticipate the needs of the surgical team during procedures.
  • Handle and label specimens according to established procedures.
  • Maintain sterile technique and follow infection-control standards.
  • Clean, disinfect, and restock the operating room after procedures.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, anesthesia providers, and other healthcare professionals.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
  • Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification preferred or required as applicable.
  • Previous Labor & Delivery, obstetric, or surgical experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instruments, and infection prevention.
  • Excellent communication, organization, teamwork, and attention-to-detail skills.

Pay Rate
$56.66 - $61.53/hour
