Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to support surgical teams in delivering safe and efficient patient care in the Operating Room. The Surgical Technologist will prepare operating rooms, maintain sterile fields, assist surgeons during procedures, and ensure surgical instruments and supplies are readily available while adhering to strict infection prevention and patient safety standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare operating rooms by setting up surgical instruments, sterile supplies, equipment, and medications required for procedures
  • Establish and maintain a sterile field throughout surgical procedures using aseptic techniques
  • Assist surgeons by anticipating procedural needs and passing instruments, supplies, and equipment during surgery
  • Perform surgical counts of instruments, sponges, sharps, and other supplies before, during, and after procedures
  • Prepare, inspect, and operate surgical equipment and ensure proper functioning before procedures
  • Handle surgical specimens according to established protocols and facility guidelines
  • Assist with patient positioning, skin preparation, draping, and transfer while maintaining patient safety
  • Maintain accurate documentation related to surgical procedures, instrument counts, and specimen handling
  • Clean, organize, and restock operating rooms following procedures
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, Registered Nurses, and other perioperative staff to ensure efficient workflow
  • Follow infection prevention protocols, sterile processing standards, patient safety guidelines, and regulatory requirements
  • Participate in emergency procedures and maintain readiness for urgent surgical cases

Required Qualifications:

  • Active Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or equivalent certification as required by state or facility
  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
  • Current BLS/CPR certification required
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Operating Room Surgical Technologist experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, instrumentation, sterile techniques, anatomy, and infection prevention practices
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred
  • Commitment to delivering safe, high-quality, patient-centered perioperative care

Pay Rate
$24.39 - $29.27/hour
