Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Certified Scrub Technician to support surgical procedures by preparing the operating room, maintaining a sterile field, and assisting surgeons and the surgical team throughout operations. The Certified Scrub Technician plays a vital role in ensuring patient safety and the efficient delivery of surgical care.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare operating rooms with sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment prior to surgery.
  • Maintain sterile technique throughout all surgical procedures.
  • Assist surgeons by passing instruments, sutures, sponges, and other surgical supplies during operations.
  • Anticipate the needs of the surgical team to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Perform surgical counts of instruments, needles, and sponges according to established protocols.
  • Assist with patient positioning, skin preparation, and sterile draping.
  • Handle surgical specimens according to facility policies.
  • Clean, restock, and prepare operating rooms between procedures.
  • Ensure proper sterilization and maintenance of surgical instruments and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and comply with infection prevention protocols, patient safety standards, AORN guidelines, and facility policies.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, registered nurses, anesthesia providers, and other perioperative staff to deliver high-quality patient care.

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
  • Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) required.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • Minimum 1 year of recent scrub technician or surgical technologist experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, anatomy, and aseptic practices.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred.

Pay Rate
$45.22 - $50.10/hour
