Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Certified Scrub Technician to support surgical procedures by preparing the operating room, maintaining a sterile field, and assisting surgeons and the surgical team throughout operations. The Certified Scrub Technician plays a vital role in ensuring patient safety and the efficient delivery of surgical care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare operating rooms with sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment prior to surgery.
- Maintain sterile technique throughout all surgical procedures.
- Assist surgeons by passing instruments, sutures, sponges, and other surgical supplies during operations.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team to ensure efficient workflow.
- Perform surgical counts of instruments, needles, and sponges according to established protocols.
- Assist with patient positioning, skin preparation, and sterile draping.
- Handle surgical specimens according to facility policies.
- Clean, restock, and prepare operating rooms between procedures.
- Ensure proper sterilization and maintenance of surgical instruments and equipment.
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with infection prevention protocols, patient safety standards, AORN guidelines, and facility policies.
- Collaborate with surgeons, registered nurses, anesthesia providers, and other perioperative staff to deliver high-quality patient care.
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) required.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Minimum 1 year of recent scrub technician or surgical technologist experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, anatomy, and aseptic practices.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred.
Pay Rate
$45.22 - $50.10/hour
