Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)
Position Summary
Support pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications while ensuring accuracy, safety, and quality patient care. Assist with prescription processing, medication preparation, inventory management, and pharmacy operations.
Responsibilities
- Receive, process, and enter prescription orders accurately.
- Prepare and package medications under pharmacist supervision.
- Measure, count, label, and dispense medications according to established procedures.
- Assist pharmacists with prescription verification and patient inquiries.
- Maintain accurate patient and medication records.
- Manage medication inventory, including stocking and monitoring expiration dates.
- Process medication orders and insurance claims as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy environment.
- Follow medication safety, infection-control, and regulatory standards.
- Communicate effectively with pharmacists, healthcare staff, patients, and caregivers.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification preferred or required as applicable.
- State pharmacy technician registration or license, as required.
- Previous pharmacy or healthcare experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work effectively under the supervision of a pharmacist and as part of a healthcare team.
Pay Rate
$33.03 - $37.91/hour
