Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) to support pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications while ensuring accuracy, safety, and regulatory compliance. The Pharmacy Technician will assist with medication preparation, inventory management, prescription processing, and patient service in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, package, label, and dispense medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Receive and process prescription orders accurately and efficiently.
- Prepare sterile and non-sterile medications as permitted by state regulations and facility policies.
- Maintain medication inventory, restock supplies, and monitor expiration dates.
- Process medication orders using pharmacy management software and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
- Assist with medication reconciliation and documentation as assigned.
- Maintain accurate pharmacy records and documentation.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare staff.
- Ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations, medication safety standards, HIPAA, infection prevention protocols, and facility policies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and secure pharmacy work environment.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Active Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Healthcareer Association (NHA), as required.
- Active state Pharmacy Technician registration or license, if required.
- Minimum 1 year of recent pharmacy technician experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy operations, medication preparation, pharmaceutical terminology, and dosage calculations.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Experience with pharmacy information systems and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred.
Pay Rate
$33.03 - $37.91/hour
