Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA)
Position Summary
Provide occupational therapy interventions under the direction of an Occupational Therapist to help patients improve functional abilities, independence, and quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Implement treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist.
- Provide therapeutic activities to improve strength, coordination, mobility, and daily living skills.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) and functional tasks.
- Monitor patient progress and report changes to the Occupational Therapist.
- Educate patients and caregivers on exercises, safety, and home programs.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Collaborate with therapists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Follow patient safety, infection-control, and clinical standards.
Qualifications
- Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Current COTA license or certification in the applicable state.
- Previous clinical or rehabilitation experience preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and patient-care skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Pay Rate
$41.28 - $46.16/hour
