Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA)
Position Summary
Provide occupational therapy services under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist to help patients improve functional abilities, independence, and quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist.
- Provide therapeutic activities to improve strength, mobility, coordination, and daily living skills.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) and functional tasks.
- Teach adaptive techniques and safe use of assistive equipment.
- Monitor patient progress and report changes to the Occupational Therapist.
- Educate patients and caregivers on home exercises and safety strategies.
- Maintain accurate treatment records and documentation.
- Follow patient safety, infection-control, and therapy standards.
- Collaborate with the rehabilitation team to support patient goals.
Qualifications
- Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Current state COTA license or certification.
- NBCOT certification preferred/required as applicable.
- Previous clinical or rehabilitation experience preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and patient-care skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary rehabilitation team.
Pay Rate
$41.28 - $46.16/hour
