Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Provide skilled occupational therapy services under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist to help patients improve functional abilities, independence, and quality of life. The COTA will implement treatment plans, provide therapeutic activities, and monitor patient progress.
Responsibilities
- Provide occupational therapy treatments according to established care plans.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living and functional skills.
- Provide therapeutic exercises and activities to improve strength, coordination, and mobility.
- Train patients in adaptive techniques and use of assistive equipment.
- Monitor patient response and progress during treatment.
- Educate patients and caregivers on exercises, home programs, and safety techniques.
- Document treatments and patient progress accurately.
- Communicate patient progress and concerns to the Occupational Therapist.
- Follow safety, infection control, and clinical standards.
Qualifications
- Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license or certification as required by the state.
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Previous COTA experience preferred.
- Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with patients and interdisciplinary teams.
- Commitment to patient safety and quality care.
Pay Rate
$45.08 - $49.96/hour
