Position Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide therapeutic services under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. The COTA will implement individualized treatment plans, assist patients in improving functional independence, and help restore the skills needed for daily living and meaningful activities.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement occupational therapy treatment plans developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist
  • Assist patients in improving activities of daily living (ADLs), fine motor skills, coordination, strength, balance, and functional mobility
  • Provide therapeutic exercises, activities, and interventions to promote independence and recovery
  • Instruct patients in the safe use of adaptive equipment and assistive devices
  • Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs and functional techniques
  • Monitor patient progress and communicate observations to the supervising Occupational Therapist
  • Document treatments, patient responses, and progress accurately in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
  • Assist with splint application, positioning, and therapeutic activities as directed
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies
  • Maintain therapy equipment and treatment areas in a clean and organized condition
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
  • Active, unrestricted Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license/certification in the state of practice
  • Current NBCOT COTA certification required
  • Current BLS/CPR certification required
  • Minimum 1 year of recent COTA experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of rehabilitation techniques, therapeutic interventions, and patient care practices
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred
  • Ability to work effectively under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team

Pay Rate
$43.56 - $48.44/hour
