Position Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide high-quality rehabilitation services. The COTA will implement individualized treatment plans, assist patients in improving functional independence, enhance daily living skills, and support patients in achieving their rehabilitation goals through evidence-based, patient-centered care.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement treatment plans developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist
  • Assist patients with therapeutic exercises and activities to improve strength, coordination, balance, fine motor skills, and functional mobility
  • Provide training in activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs)
  • Instruct patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, adaptive techniques, and the proper use of assistive devices
  • Monitor patient progress and communicate changes in condition to the supervising Occupational Therapist
  • Assist with splint application, positioning, and therapeutic interventions within the scope of practice
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of treatment sessions and patient progress in Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
  • Participate in interdisciplinary care planning, discharge planning, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Follow infection prevention protocols, patient safety standards, and facility policies
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe therapy environment
  • Promote patient independence and overall quality of life through compassionate rehabilitation care

Required Qualifications:

  • Active, unrestricted Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license/certification in the state of practice
  • Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
  • Current BLS/CPR certification required
  • NBCOT Certification required where applicable
  • Minimum 1 year of recent COTA experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of occupational therapy principles, rehabilitation techniques, and patient care practices
  • Excellent communication, organizational, documentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred
  • Commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered rehabilitation care

Pay Rate
$45.08 - $49.96/hour
