Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to safely administer medications and provide quality resident care under the supervision of a licensed nurse. The CMA will monitor residents, document medication administration, assist with daily care needs, and promote a safe and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer prescribed medications in accordance with physician orders and facility policies
- Observe residents for medication effectiveness and report adverse reactions or changes in condition to the supervising nurse
- Accurately document medication administration and maintain medication records
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility as needed
- Measure and record vital signs and report significant findings
- Maintain medication carts, supplies, and proper storage of medications
- Collaborate with nurses and the interdisciplinary care team to support resident care plans
- Follow infection prevention, patient safety, and medication administration protocols
- Provide compassionate, respectful, and resident-centered care
- Ensure compliance with state regulations and facility policies regarding medication administration
Required Qualifications:
- Active Certified Medication Aide (CMA) certification in the state of practice
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience as a Certified Medication Aide preferred
- Knowledge of medication administration practices, resident care, and safety standards
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
Pay Rate
$26.17 - $31.05/hour
