Job Title: Medical Coder (Acute Care Setting)

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Medical Coder with experience in an acute care environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of coding systems, healthcare guidelines, and clinical concepts, along with the ability to support training and resolve coding-related issues.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform accurate medical coding for inpatient and emergency department (ED) cases
Ensure compliance with coding guidelines, payor requirements, and federal billing regulations
Review clinical documentation and assign appropriate codes
Research and resolve coding-related issues and discrepancies
Assist in training and mentoring coding staff as needed
Utilize coding software and tools efficiently

Required Skills & Knowledge:

Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Word and MS Excel
Strong knowledge of:
- ICD-9-CM and ICD-10 coding systems
- CPT-4 coding
- Coding guidelines and compliance standards
- Payor and federal billing guidelines
Solid understanding of anatomy, physiology, and disease processes
Experience using 3M/HDS coding applications and encoder tools

Qualifications:

Certified Coding Specialist ( CCS) certification required
Minimum 3 years of medical coding experience
Experience in inpatient and emergency department (ED) coding
Working knowledge of ICD-10 coding standards

Pay Rate
$38.05 - $42.93/hour
