Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Registered Nurse (Cath Lab RN) to provide specialized nursing care for patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures. The Cath Lab RN will assess patients, assist physicians during procedures, monitor patient status, and ensure safe, high-quality care throughout the procedural experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures
- Perform pre-procedure assessments and review patient history, medications, and laboratory results
- Assist physicians during cardiac catheterizations, angioplasties, stent placements, electrophysiology, and other cardiovascular procedures
- Administer medications, moderate sedation, IV therapies, and contrast agents as ordered
- Continuously monitor patient vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and hemodynamic status during procedures
- Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition and emergency situations
- Provide post-procedure care, patient education, and discharge instructions
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure quality patient care
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention, radiation safety, and regulatory standards
Required Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ASN or BSN preferred)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications
- Minimum 1 year of recent Cath Lab or cardiovascular nursing experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, hemodynamic monitoring, cardiovascular procedures, and moderate sedation practices
- Excellent critical-thinking, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced procedural environment and participate in on-call rotation
Pay Rate
$69.61 - $74.49/hour
