Cardiac Surgery RN
Provide specialized nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac surgical procedures and recovering from complex cardiovascular conditions. The Cardiac Surgery RN will monitor patients closely, administer treatments, manage postoperative care, and collaborate with the surgical and cardiac care teams.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive assessments of cardiac surgery patients.
- Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, hemodynamic status, and postoperative recovery.
- Administer medications, IV therapy, blood products, and prescribed treatments.
- Monitor surgical sites, drains, chest tubes, and lines for complications.
- Recognize and respond promptly to changes in cardiac or clinical status.
- Provide postoperative care, pain management, and patient education.
- Assist with preoperative preparation and postoperative recovery.
- Collaborate with cardiac surgeons, cardiologists, anesthesia providers, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Previous cardiac surgery, cardiovascular, ICU, or critical care experience preferred.
- Strong cardiac assessment and critical-thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to manage complex patients in a fast-paced environment.
Pay Rate
$80.28 - $85.16/hour
