Cardiac Sonographer (Echocardiographer)

Position Summary

Perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasound examinations to evaluate heart structure and function. Obtain high-quality echocardiographic images, assist physicians with diagnosis, and ensure patient safety and comfort throughout procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform transthoracic echocardiograms according to established protocols.
  • Obtain and document high-quality cardiac images and measurements.
  • Assess cardiac anatomy, function, blood flow, and hemodynamics.
  • Prepare patients and explain procedures to ensure comfort and cooperation.
  • Operate and maintain echocardiography equipment safely and effectively.
  • Recognize abnormal findings and communicate relevant observations to the appropriate provider.
  • Monitor patients during examinations and respond to changes in condition.
  • Maintain accurate and timely examination documentation.
  • Follow infection-control, patient safety, and imaging standards.
  • Collaborate with cardiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Cardiovascular Sonography program.
  • ARDMS (RDCS) or CCI (RCS) credential preferred or required as applicable.
  • Current state license or registration, if required.
  • Previous cardiac/echocardiography experience preferred.
  • Strong technical, communication, patient-care, and attention-to-detail skills.

Pay Rate
$41.66 - $69.63/hour
