Cardiac Sonographer (Echocardiographer)
Position Summary
Perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasound examinations to evaluate heart structure and function. Obtain high-quality echocardiographic images, assist physicians with diagnosis, and ensure patient safety and comfort throughout procedures.
Responsibilities
- Perform transthoracic echocardiograms according to established protocols.
- Obtain and document high-quality cardiac images and measurements.
- Assess cardiac anatomy, function, blood flow, and hemodynamics.
- Prepare patients and explain procedures to ensure comfort and cooperation.
- Operate and maintain echocardiography equipment safely and effectively.
- Recognize abnormal findings and communicate relevant observations to the appropriate provider.
- Monitor patients during examinations and respond to changes in condition.
- Maintain accurate and timely examination documentation.
- Follow infection-control, patient safety, and imaging standards.
- Collaborate with cardiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Cardiovascular Sonography program.
- ARDMS (RDCS) or CCI (RCS) credential preferred or required as applicable.
- Current state license or registration, if required.
- Previous cardiac/echocardiography experience preferred.
- Strong technical, communication, patient-care, and attention-to-detail skills.
Pay Rate
$41.66 - $69.63/hour
