Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN Supervisor to oversee daily clinical operations and provide leadership within the Emergency Department. The RN Supervisor will coordinate patient care, support and mentor nursing staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and promote the delivery of safe, efficient, and high-quality emergency services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily operations and workflow of the Emergency Department
- Provide clinical leadership, guidance, and support to nursing and support staff
- Coordinate staffing assignments, patient flow, admissions, transfers, and discharges
- Perform patient assessments and provide direct patient care as needed
- Respond to trauma activations, medical emergencies, and critical situations
- Monitor quality of care and ensure compliance with emergency nursing standards and facility policies
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals
- Assist with staff orientation, training, scheduling, and performance improvement initiatives
- Ensure accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Promote infection prevention, patient safety, HIPAA compliance, and regulatory standards
- Participate in departmental quality improvement, risk management, and continuing education activities
Required Qualifications:
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
- Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- TNCC certification preferred or required based on assignment
- Minimum 3 years of recent Emergency Department nursing experience
- Previous charge nurse, team lead, or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of emergency nursing, trauma care, triage, cardiac monitoring, and critical care
- Excellent leadership, communication, critical-thinking, and organizational skills
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
- BSN preferred; MSN preferred for leadership roles
- Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) certification preferred
- Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification preferred
- Experience in a Level I or Level II Trauma Center
- Previous leadership or management experience in an emergency department
- Strong conflict resolution, mentoring, and team-building skills
- Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call schedules as required
Pay Rate
$83.33 - $88.21/hour
