We're seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Travel Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our collaborative rehabilitation team in Salinas, California. About the Position
As a valued member of our interdisciplinary rehabilitation team, you'll work closely with Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, nursing staff, physicians, and families to help residents regain independence and maximize their quality of life.
Our facility serves a diverse skilled nursing and short-term rehabilitation population, allowing you to treat a wide variety of orthopedic, neurological, cardiopulmonary, and medically complex patients.
Responsibilities
Provide skilled occupational therapy treatments under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist.
Implement individualized treatment plans to improve ADL performance, functional mobility, upper extremity function, cognition, safety awareness, and overall independence.
Accurately document treatments using electronic medical records.
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team regarding patient progress and discharge planning.
Educate patients, caregivers, and facility staff on adaptive equipment, home safety, and functional strategies.
Maintain compliance with Medicare, state, and facility documentation standards.
Participate in care conferences and team meetings as appropriate.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
Current California COTA license (or eligibility).
Current CPR/BLS certification.
Skilled Nursing Facility experience preferred, but motivated new graduates are encouraged to apply.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Positive attitude with a passion for patient-centered care.
Complete documentation in Net Health per facility standards.
